By accessing or using CardSynth ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the Service. This is a prototype application, and these terms are subject to change.

2. Description of Service

CardSynth provides users with tools to analyze Japanese text, generate learning materials (including vocabulary, example sentences, images, and audio), and export them as Anki flashcard decks. The Service relies on third-party AI providers to generate this content.

As a prototype, the Service is provided "as is" and may contain errors or inaccuracies. We do not guarantee the correctness, reliability, or suitability of any content generated.

3. User Conduct

You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to submit any content that is illegal, defamatory, or infringes on the rights of others. You are solely responsible for the text you input into the Service.

4. Intellectual Property

You retain all ownership rights to the original text you submit to the Service ("Input Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, process, and transmit your Input Content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service.

All aspects of the Service itself, including the design, branding, software, and generated content (excluding your Input Content), are the property of CardSynth.

5. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. WE MAKE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, REGARDING THE ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, OR COMPLETENESS OF THE SERVICE OR ANY CONTENT GENERATED.

IN NO EVENT SHALL CARDSYNTH BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

6. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party AI services to function. We do not control these services and are not responsible for their performance, availability, or data handling practices. Your use of our Service constitutes acknowledgment of this reliance on third parties.

7. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users by updating the "Last updated" date on this page. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
